An Uber Eats initiative focused on driving growth and retention through optimized promotions.

ROLE

Concepting, UI design, and prototyping

Drove strategy and design in collaboration with PM and product design.

RESULTS

Increased overall engagement and retention

Growth design adopted from 2020 through 2025

Competitors were gaining market share through aggressive promotions. Uber Eats needed to surface clearer, more accessible offers to stay competitive.

Uber Eats needed a better way to surface and encourage engagement with rewards and promotions. There was also a challenge in helping restaurant partners offer custom, condition-based deals to customers.

To figure out the best approach, I partnered with the PM and dove into the data. We analyzed everything we had on offers and rewards, which helped us come up with a range of solutions I quickly designed and tested. Validating decisions through the process

Making promotions easier to find and use.

We ran many of A/B tests to figure out the best design and strategy for surfacing offers to users.

There needed to be a balnce between awareness, understanding while not creating banner blindness or overly distracting the user from the core ordering experience.

Highlighting rewards for better engagement

Reward offers were often buried in unrelated screens or not clearly labeled.

This redesign surfaced relevant offers at the right time, making them easier to act on and encouraging more repeat orders.

The need to keep users on track in real time

Real-time order progress was often unclear, causing drop-off.

We clarified the offer path by aligning messaging and UX states throughout the flow, so users always knew what they needed to do next.
